Musicologist Adam Harper fills up a tub for London-based musician and Producergirls co-founder E.M.M.A.

Welcome back to Adam Harper’s monthly exploration of the strange and the wonderful in underground music. This time, Adam plays new music by the Quantum Natives collective, DJ Lycox, Maxo, Hyph11e, Organ Tapes, and more, and sits down with London-based producer E.M.M.A. for an after-work chat. Somewhere between grime and UK funky, humor and pathos, E.M.M.A has made a name for herself with releases on imprints like Keysound Recordings, Astral Plane and Coyote Records. She’s also the co-founder of the Producer-Girls workshop series where herself, Ikonika, Dexplicit, PJam, and Nightwave share their knowledge with aspiring musicians. For this episode of Bubblebath, E.M.M.A and Adam catch up to discuss baroque motives in grime, juggling double lives, sexism in music, and the power of the pumpkin emoji.
