Author and musicologist Adam Harper in conversation with electronic producer and women’s studies professor Tara Rodgers.

For this episode of Bubblebath, Adam Harper touches down in the DC area to meet with Tara Rodgers, AKA Analog Tara. Rodgers is a composer, scholar and educator whose work focuses on the interplay of identity and sound as cultural history. Her original music — which ranges from jazz pieces to ambient, sound design and techno — finds the sweet spot between theory and dancefloor instincts. Here the two musicologists discuss Rodgers’s own musical work, her Pink Noises interview anthology and her ongoing quest to create online platforms for sonic interventions on issues of gender and social difference.
