Bogotá’s foremost ambassadors of global bass serve up a hyperkinetic live mix session, a full spread of Colombia’s underground sounds.
With nearly a decade of collaboration under their collective belt, Bogotá’s premier soundsystem crew El Freaky Colectivo are veterans of Central and Latin America’s well-established global bass scenes. Years of genre-fusing edits and inventive remixes gave way to original tracks and cemented the group’s evolution from DJ crew to producers. A constellation of Colombian styles like cumbia and champeta combine with infectious riddims and guest verses, guaranteeing no two sets from El Freaky are ever the same. This month, MC Andrés Shaq, VJ Fat Sugar Daddy and DJ Mike Style join Uproot Andy in the studio for a walloping live set on the eve of a new tour, plus a chat about their upcoming album (slated for release this fall).
