The New York-via-Chicago house and techno aficionado stops in to deliver a jackin’ set and conversation with host Bryan Kasenic.
Savile, real name Gianpaolo Dieli, hails from Michigan, but he relocated to Chicago where he cut his teeth as a DJ and producer in the house and techno scene. Now rooted in NYC, during his years in Chicago he held a residency at the revered Midwest establishment Smart Bar and shared label-partner duties (alongside Steve Mizek) at the influential Argot Records, which showcases American talent. As a producer, Savile’s tracks are finely tuned for the dancefloor and he’s released on 2MR, Argot, Wazi Wazi and Amadeus Records. His latest output, The Abolitionist, is comprised of two tracks that drive awareness toward the Chicago Community Bond Fund, an organization working to pay bonds for people who can’t afford to. Savile will get on the mic to chat about this topic and more on this week’s episode of The Bunker NY.
