Three crucial voices in house and techno pay homage to the past and present sound of New York City.
All masterful DJs in their own right, Hot Mix features the hyper-personalities of Mike Servito, Justin Cudmore, and Gunnar Haslam. With a nod to Chicago and radio quickfire mixing, the trio have played under this moniker for some time now, melding together their high-energy influences. On this episode, these cohorts of the Bunker NY step in to take us on a winding journey with one focus: New York tracks. Two of the three have early roots and cut their teeth in the Midwest, but New York is the trio’s longtime home — through their collective ears, we’ll hear the past and present musical output of the melting pot that is NYC. They’ll guide us through house and techno from the ’80s, ’90s, and early ’00s, all mixed up with the current and contemporary cornucopia of sounds bleeding out from the boroughs.
