With music on Matias Aguayo’s Cómeme and Veronica Vasicka’s Cititrax, this Romanian producer weaves new EBM into acid gloom.
In her native Bucharest, Romania, Borusiade grew up studying classical music and singing in children’s choirs before getting into electronic music. Inspired by the French Pulp scene (Miss Kittin, Chloe and Jennifer Cardini) she began to DJ in her local clubs. She started to produce her own music in the mid-’00s, bringing together the raw crunch of EBM with dark disco and a gloomy style of acid that sounds like heat rising from concrete. After joining the Cómeme label in 2015 and taking on Radio Cómeme’s the Dreamcatcher show, she’s also released music on Correspondant, P-Balans and, most recently, Cititrax, the Minimal Wave sub-label.
