Nicole Misha is a black feminist, DJ and artist based in Detroit, Michigan. Misha was born in Brooklyn, and spent considerable time in Chapel Hill and Durham, North Carolina. She credits her musical foundation to her family, as well as her involvement in freeform and community radio. She’s worked behind the counter at the legendary Detroit second-hand record shop Peoples Records and is now a staffer at Theo Parrish’s Sound Signature label, assisting with day-to-day operations, new releases and the programming of the label’s party, Music Gallery. Misha’s personal mission is to use sonic, written and visual media to assert her freedom and the freedom of her people.
