Rome’s soundtrack aficionado David Nerattini digs into his crates for an Italian cinematic special, featuring Goblin, Fabio Frizzi and more.

While we may first think of American cinema when it comes to horror movies, there was a time when a slew of Italian film directors and musicians ruled the roost in the school of terror, Writers and directors like Dario Argento, Lucio Fulci, Umberto Lenzi, and forefathers Mario Bava and Riccardo Freda, all contributed to the Italian school of cold-blooded horror, while musicians and composers such as Fabio Frizzi, Roberto Donati, Claudio Simonetti and Goblin, and even Ennio Morricone all turned out chilling scores. Here Rome’s all round crate-digging aficionado David Nerattini takes us on a tour of rare and classic Italian soundtracks of haunting proportions.
