Rome’s crate-digging champ David Nerattini goes into his collection for two hours of beat poems, jazz-rap and spoken word.

This month, David Nerattini explores the union of poetry and music in African-American culture, which has profoundly influenced popular culture from the Harlem Renaissance to the Beat Generation to hip-hop. Over the next two hours we’ll go from Langston Hughes to Saul Williams, Sun Ra, Amiri Baraka, Melvin Van Peebles, Gil Scott-Heron and the Last Poets, among many others.
