Grammy winner, piano maestro, Guinness world record holder and multi-talented entertainer: Welcome to the world of Chilly Gonzales.
Cosmopolitan pianist, composer, and entertainer Chilly Gonzales is no ordinary musician. Originally from Canada, Chilly Gonzales moved to Europe in 1999 and has continued his bohemian lifestyle between Berlin, Paris and Cologne ever since. In the time it has taken him to create his vast body of work, Chilly has also broken a Guinness world record (for the longest piano solo), scored a Grammy for his contribution to Daft Punk’s Random Access Memories milestone, and ventured out into the world of musical education, writing and film. But then again, what else can you expect from someone whose musical talents are so adept he can seamlessly switch from working with Boys Noize and Feist, to Germany’s last Dadaist standing Helge Schneider, Brit-pop hero Jarvis Cocker, and Daft Punk in their jazz-rock phase? Despite his knack for poignant collaborations, Chilly Gonzales has further honed his impressive skills as a pianist and composer and continued to tackle the high brow-low brow dichotomy with new classical projects such as 2012’s Solo Piano II, the best-selling book of easy piano pieces Re-Introduction Etudes, and 2015’s Chambers album.
