The British producer chronicles his Nothing Is Still project: an album, novella, film and live show telling a story of emigraton and hope.

British producer and DJ Leon Vynehall started out as a resident at Brighton club night AKA AKA ROAR, later drawing on his youthful affection for soul, garage, hip-hop and funk to produce taut, bright house tracks for labels such as Rush Hour, 3024, Aus Music and Clone sub-label Royal Oak, among others. As his DJ-ing and solo productions took off internationally in the 2010s, Vynehall began producing and engineering music for bands and solo artists - an experience which informed his 2018 album, Nothing Is Still. Released on Ninja Tune, the ambitious project has been five years in the making - an album, novella, film and live performance that, all together, tell the story of his grandparents’ emigration to New York City in the 1960s.
