Tom Trago and The Cyclist
A rundown of the week’s best new electronic releases, plus interviews with Dutch mainstay Tom Trago and distortion aficionado The Cyclist.
With each passing week the temperature heats up (at least in the northern hemisphere) and so does the rate of new electronic music releases. Yet even as the flood of new records intensifies, First Floor holds steady, with host Shawn Reynaldo combing through it all and plucking out the gems to share every Thursday on Red Bull Radio. In this episode, he also premieres a track off the upcoming album from µ-Ziq, AKA Planet Mu label boss and UK experimenter Mike Paradinas. As always, the program includes a couple of interviews, the first with Dutch veteran Tom Trago, who discusses his new album for Dekmantel and how his move out of Amsterdam has affected his music. Also stopping by is Irish producer the Cyclist, who touches on his love of tape hiss to create music outside of the usual electronic hubs, including his new EP for 100% Silk, Alabaster Thrones.
