The week’s best new electronic music releases, plus conversations with UK percussion wizard Randomer and NYC house upstart Will Dimaggio.
With summer fast approaching (at least in the Northern Hemisphere), electronic music outposts around the globe are rushing to release their potential anthems before the calendar flips to June. Amidst this deluge of new material, host Shawn Reynaldo is here to filter out the dreck and highlight only the best new offerings each week. This episode finds him exclusively premiering a track off the forthcoming Mary Lattimore album on Ghostly International, and it also finds him chatting with UK producer Randomer. The London artist is known for having some of the best drums in dance music, and with his new Slicing EP set to arrive on Dekmantel, he talks about his relationship with percussion and the narrative (or lack thereof) behind his tunes. Also stopping by for a chat is young NYC producer Will Dimaggio, who discusses his debut album for Future Times, At Ease, and describes his relationship with a likeminded crew of house music outsiders that includes the likes of Anthony Naples, DJ Python and Huerco S.
