German techno shapeshifter Alex Ridha with a personal selection of timeless anthems and inspirational electronics.

Before he was Boys Noize, Alex Ridha was putting out EPs and DJing for Felix da Housecat in his tender teenage years as Kid Alex. At age 21 he moved from his hometown of Hamburg, Germany to Berlin, where he began Boysnoize Records in 2005. After establishing his signature industrial crunch with debut LP Oi Oi Oi in 2007, Ridha has collaborated with dubstep upsetter Skrillex as Dog Blood, piano prodigy Chilly Gonzales as Octave Minds, Snoop Dogg, Scissor Sisters and more. In a nod to the early days when Boys Noize would mail vinyl test pressings to Tiga and Erol Alkan, 2015’s Strictly Raw Vol. 1 celebrated BNR’s tenth anniversary with tracks made from just two drum machines and an analog synthesizer. A versatile producer, drawing as much from the dank, dark warehouses of electro and EBM as Bronx boombox-rattling hip-hop and the stroboscopic synths of Busy P and Daft Punk, Ridha continues to diversify with 2016’s Mayday, featuring guest spots from Benga, Hudson Mohawke and Poliça.
