The Italian DJ on bringing the joys of disco to club kids all over the world.

Horse Meat Disco may be one of the most famous DJ crews in the world, but 16 years in, they’re still throwing their namesake Sunday dance night at London gay club the Eagle. On this special episode of Honey Soundsystem, Severino, one of the collective’s four members, joins Jackie House on a pink couch in Los Angeles — this long-format interview chronicles his extraordinary life, from his come-up as a DJ and radio host in a small town in Northern Italy to a career spent bringing the ebullient, inclusive spirit of disco to club kids all over the world. Tune in for the lowdown on Severino’s mysterious first job in London, the Horse Meat Disco origin story and where he gets his never-ending positivity. And it’s all set to some of his favorite classics and rarities from the ’70s and ’80s, alongside a taste of the crew’s upcoming debut LP. The episode opens with an hour-long set from Jackie House, celebrating Honey Soundsystem’s long friendship (and many misadventures) with the Horse Meat Disco team.
