Borusiade at Nachtdigital
Mutant rhythms, EBM flirtations and a trippy journey into the abyss: Romanian producer and Cómeme affiliate Borusiade delivers the goods at Nachtdigital 2016.
Born and raised in Bucharest, Borusiade received an education in classical music but couldn’t resist the dancefloor, finding her way into DJing in 2002 and taking up production a few years later. Now based in Berlin, this Romanian producer has been taken in by Matias Aguayo’s Cómeme camp, which issued the Jeopardy EP—her solo debut—in 2016 and has also provided a platform for her monthly radio show, The Dreamcatcher. Sonically, Borusiade tends to inhabit the darker end of the electronic spectrum, combining elements of minimal wave, EBM, dark disco and raw, acidic house into something wholly her own. Her penchant for straight-to-the-gut basslines and the trippy percussion was further documented on Feelings of Entropy, Boruside’s 2016 EP for Jennifer Cardini’s Correspondant label.
