The West Coast king brings his electro breakdance blueprint to the stage at Germany’s summer festival staple.
Los Angeles-based producer Greg Broussard is the man behind pioneering hip hop electro fusion artist Egyptian Lover. Cutting his teeth with the massive Uncle Jamm’s Army sound system, it wasn’t long before he was making tracks specifically to rock the 10,000 strong arena parties they were throwing in Los Angeles. “Egypt, Egypt” was his first hit which, having been jumped on by local radio, soon became a standard across the US among club DJs, particularly in the breakdance scene. Live 808 based performances in Miami are credited by some with inspiring the Miami bass scene, and his early records have been name-checked by many of the electronic music’s great and good. Currently gigging all over and working with artists like M.I.A. and James Pants, the lover from Egypt is still making his presence felt on dancefloors the world over.
