Too Short at Movement
The Bay Area pimp rap originator and Dangerous Music label boss performs a scorching set in Detroit.
Born in LA, Too Short, AKA Todd Shaw, moved to Oakland at the age of 14 — there he met his early collaborator Freddie B, and began one of the most storied careers in hip-hop history. Over the course of 30 years and 19 albums, including Born To Mack and the platinum Life Is…Too Short, he’s become known as the godfather of Bay Area hip-hop and the originator of the sub-genre called pimp rap. In this session, Too Short brings his vintage beats and x-rated lyrics to the stage in Detroit.
