Animus with Debit
The radio host, visual artist and electronic experimentalist deconstructs her new LP of immersive, heady textures.
The animus, a theory first put forth by psychoanalyst Carl Jung, is essentially the manifestation of the masculine personality in a woman’s unconscious mind — at least, that’s how it has traditionally been defined. Joining Mexican Jihad, Fausto Bahía and Lao in our NYC studio to unpack the inner workings of Animus (which the N.A.A.F.I crew calls their most ambitious project yet), the New York-via-Mexico producer discusses her album-making process, Brooklyn’s thriving electronic community and friendship with CDMX’s outsider dance collective.
