Kaan Düzarat at Red Bull Music Festival Istanbul
Turkey’s restless music activist and RBMA grad connects the dots between hypnotic dancefloor meditations and deep Anatolian grooves.
Kaan Düzarat got his start in music in 2003 with his radio show, Kompozit, on Dinamo (FM 103.8), and eventually moved to a DJ residency at Istanbul’s legendary Club Crystal. A three-year stint promoting parties at Kucuk Otto, featuring a slew of internationally touring DJs, he joined the Red Bull Music Academy for the New York edition in 2013. After returning to Istanbul, he hosted a monthly show for Red Bull Radio, which provided a platform for local musicians from Turkey. A revered remixer as well as a class producer in his own right, his sound combines influences from Detroit techno, disco, jazz, folk, krautrock and electro. He is also a member of local bands Analog Kültür Experiment and Lalalar. Düzarat continues his journey around the universe of sound by digging records, chopping samples and breaking analog systems at his vinyl and sound-equipment store and studio in Istanbul, Analog Kültür.
