Kelly Moran’s recently released sophomore album, Ultraviolet, is an arresting study in the ways prepared piano can create vibrantly hypnotic music. It’s not a new technique by any means, but Moran excels at creating involved pieces with minimal resources, placing her in a long and illustrious lineage of New York City experimentalists. Aside from performing her solo work, she has been touring with Oneohtrix Point Never as part of his MYRIAD live show. In this episode, she performs tracks from Ultraviolet, plus a few older releases, at the stunning Austrian festival Elevate.
