The multi-faceted artist unleashes her snake-charming melodies onto the stage in Reykjavik.

La Sorbonne-schooled, Brooklyn-based producer Lafawndah studied classical flute and played drums in an all-girl band called Nidada, that created, as she put it, “tribal music with a rough-edged punk sensibility and a choir-like approach to vocals”. That global ethos has also shaped her eponymous solo project, which weaves together various threads of electronic music and experimental RnB. In this session, her fierce rhythms and bold voice come to life in an extraordinary set rounded up with a surprise guest.
