West Norwood Cassette Library
South London groove librarian Bob Bhamra aka West Norwood Cassette Library touches down at Dirtybird’s Motion extravaganza.
Bob Bhamra has been making his presence felt on the UK electronic music scene since the 1990s. Shedding a number of aliases in the process, the London resident took on West Norwood Cassette Library as his recording name in 2010, when he had already established both a blog and a record label under that same title. From slick house to downtempo funk and pounding techno, Bhamra’s wide range of taste reflects in his own productions, as well as in his patronage of others, such as Milyoo, Don Froth, Ultramarine and Kevin McPhee. Since 2008, ever-bashful Bob Bhamra released a full-length as No.1 Astronaut, re-worked artists as diverese as Groove Armada or South London Ordnance, and reinforced his presence behind the decks with his trademark mix of feisty grooves and expert scratching skills.
