Baba Zula’s Murat Ertel brings us into Istanbul’s psychedelic side and Don The Tiger shares the inspiration behind his evocative sound.

Frosty presents another special Open End broadcast from Berlin. He welcomes Turkish psych sage Murat Ertel, cofounder of the long-running BaBa ZuLa band, to share powerful psychedelic gems from the Istanbul underground. Adrián de Alfonso, AKA Don the Tiger, follows up with an interview and offering of songs illuminating his new album, Matanzas. The Spanish musician, now based in Berlin, has crafted a record full of emotive dynamics that reflect fantasy landscapes, real world longing and dramatic undertones. Alfonso’s co-producer Lucrecia Dalt joins the conversation to tell us how they synthesized this big picture into recorded form. We’ll also hear an early world premiere from the record, to be released this October on Crammed Discs.

Produced by Mark “Frosty” McNeill and Jordan Rothlein
