Alsarah leads a multi-generational sonic tour of her native Sudan, and Frosty weaves in music from Libya, Somalia, Denmark and Spain.

Musician and ethnomusicologist Alsarah creates work that is a reflection of her voyage through a dynamic world. Born in Khartoum, Sudan, Alsarah celebrates her distinct Sudanese heritage alongside the influence of her current home in Brooklyn and that of the wider world. Her project Alsarah and the Nubatones is a musical conversation about fusion and the circular energy of sonic evolution. The magic of Sudanese sounds is a substantial launchpad from which to cultivate these creative expressions. Alsarah visits Open End to share a set of era-spanning sounds from Sudan and the Sudanese diaspora. Frosty offers music from Switzerland, Libya, South Africa, Japan, Somalia, Denmark, Spain and other stimulating locations to open and close the show.
