The directory of photography discusses his work on videos and films for the likes of Kanye, Rihanna, Kendrick Lamar and Flying Lotus.

Over the last three decades, Belgian-born, L.A.-based cinematographer Danny Hiele has worked with some of the biggest names in music to create visual identities to their chart-toppers. Though he’s worked on numerous films and award-winning commercials, you’ve likely seen his work in the music realm: he manned the camera on Flying Lotus’ psychedelic shock film Kuso and Eddie Alcazar‘s FUCKKKYOUUU short, as well as acting as Director of Photography on music videos from Kendrick Lamar, Nicki Minaj, Marilyn Manson, Skrillex and Frank Ocean. We call Danny up to talk about developing his signature dark and moody style and bringing musicians and directors’ visions to life. Straight from Detroit, Zach “Shigeto” Saginaw and his brother Ben stop by to discuss their new projects and their Portage Garage pop-up this weekend in New York City, plus we have clips from last night’s Gunner Stahl and Friends event at the Red Bull Music Festival Los Angeles and the Ginga Beat Marathon, broadcasting live from Lisbon, Portugal on Red Bull Radio.
