The Brooklyn producer, DJ and TV host on music supervising five seasons of Broad City.
Matt FX has been the man behind the music for Comedy Central’s hit show Broad City, now in its fifth and final season. Alongside the show’s creators and stars, Ilana Glazer and Abbi Jacobson, FX has helped realize the comedic value of a well-placed tune, a la Lady Gaga’s “The Edge of Glory” soundtracking Abbi’s first time alone in her apartment, or Drake’s “Started from the Bottom” playing as Abbi and Ilana roll up, Missy Elliot-style, to cash a fat check. On top of his supervising duties, the New York-native is also the creator and host of Food Network’s In the Mix with Matt FX a 10-part series focusing on the intersection of music and food culture. A DJ, record producer and former host for MTV and Spotify, FX joins Vivian in the studio today to discuss his favorite moments from five years with Broad City, and what he’s up to next.
