Cornwall’s pioneering genre-jumper on a lifetime of chopping trip-hop, drum ‘n’ bass, UK garage and acid to glorious effect.
There’s something in Luke Vibert’s bag of aliases for everybody: weird trip-hop and IDM as Wagon Christ, leftfield drum & bass as Plug, twisted disco as Kerrier District and all manner of chopped-up hardcore, UK garage and screwface acid under his birth name. Vibert stops by Peak Time ahead of his second appearance in NYC in recent months to talk about growing up in Cornwall (a contemporary of Aphex Twin and the Rephlex crew), his recent rave-up UK Garave Vol. 1 and keeping the vibes alive. We’ll also have plenty of new music on deck including hot collaborations from Gesaffelstein with The Weekend, Kehlani with Ty Dolla Sign and Gucci Mane with Makonnen.
