Live from RBMA Berlin! The Atlanta engineer on making trap bang and working with Lil Uzi Vert, Gucci Mane and Migos, plus UK vocalist Emika.
Though we’re live from the Funkhaus in East Berlin, we’re joined by RBMA lecturer Kesha Lee, a super-engineer and producer from the most important place in hip-hop right now: Atlanta, Georgia. Kesha’s career got turbocharged when she became an in-house engineer at DJ Drama and Don Cannon’s Means Street Studios, where she’s best known for being Lil Uzi Vert’s right-hand woman on hits like “XO TOUR Llif3” and “Money Longer”; that said, she’s also worked with trap heavyweights Gucci Mane, Migos, Playboi Carti and more. Kesha will walk us through her white-hot career, engineering tricks and tips and what’s the wave in Atlanta right now. We’ll also hear a conversation with UK producer & songwriter Emika. The classically trained musician, who’s worked as a sound designer at Native Instruments, has releases with Ninja Tune as well as her own label and will release her fifth studio album this week. Titled Falling in Love With Sadness, the album is centered around the struggles of depression and is he released in honor of World Mental Health Day.
