Grammy Award-winning musician and actor Harry Belafonte is one of the most successful Jamaican-American artists of all time, renowned for bringing the Caribbean sound to the international mainstream. Belafonte is also acclaimed for his lifelong commitment to political and humanitarian activism – a close friend and adviser to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., he was at the forefront of the Civil Rights Movement and continues to campaign for racial equality and global peace. As part of Red Bull Music Festival New York, Belafonte join us at the historic Hostos Center for the Arts & Culture for a conversation reflecting on his career through the lens of the city he has long called home.
