Mel G hosts the Chi crew’s final show of the year, with unreleased, exclusive mixes from Boylan, Weezy and Manny b2b Earl.
As the year draws to a close, the Chicago footwork collective does something a little different by releasing mixes, made exclusively for the monthly show, that never aired. With DJ Earl on tour supporting his and Fool’s Gold stalwart Nick Hook’s new collaborative LP, 50 Backwoods, Teklife’s Mel G takes over hosting duties. He supplies the opening set – sizzling with new heat off of his forthcoming 2018 album – followed by Tokyo’s Weezy, who was interviewed several months ago on the program. Boylan (who teaches high school chemistry when he’s not cooking up nasty bangers) goes in with an adventurous mix of rave, ghettotech, rap and a Louis Armstrong flip, while Earl and DJ Manny close out the two hours with an impromptu back-to-back set recorded live at our NYC studio.
