With releases on Hivern Discs and Permanent Vacation, Italian duo Marvin & Guy keep spreading their groovy techno sound worldwide.

Formed in 2011 as a DJ and production duo, Italians Alessandro Parlatore and Marcello Giordani AKA Marvin & Guy have been releasing a boogie-laced style of house music through a variety of international labels, born of their love for the sounds of US house giants Larry Levan and Ron Hardy. Their debut EP on the Japanese label Let’s Get Lost, featuring an edit of Minako Yoshida’s 1981 disco track “Town,” introduced the elements of Marvin & Guy – funky basslines, sample-focused disco riffs and tightly-wound house grooves – and these elements have been splattered across their subsequent releases, nearly a dozen EPs and singles on labels such as Jacques Renault’s On The Prowl Records, John Talabot’s Hivern Discs (on which their most acclaimed release, the 2013 Egoísta EP, was released) LA-based Young Adults, Munich-based Permanent Vacation, and their own label, Marvin & Guy Records. In 2017 the duo launched their Equation series, a vinyl-only release in three EPs dedicated to unannounced artists who orbit Marvin & Guy’s musical world.
