From dark heavy unadulterated jungle to more pristine liquid drum & bass: Toronto-based RBMA alum Stranjah showcases the talents of the growing force of Canada’s scene.
Toronto-based Stranjah has long cemented his place in drum & bass nearly 20 years ago when he first released on seminal UK labels such as Flex, Metalheadz and 31 Records. As one of the early ambassadors of the genre, Stranjah has always maintained a certain level of quality and evolution in his sound and selections. Often dark and minimal by nature, his own productions boast moody, atmospheric overtones with an emphasis on brooding sub bass and pulsating drum patterns. Constantly evolving his sound utilizing varying tempos and incorporating a wide array of musical influences, Stranjah has enjoyed a longevity within a drum & bass scene that is constantly shifting onto the next big thing. With more recent releases on Jungle Syndicate, Technique and Hospital, Stranjah continues to be a force to be reckoned with.
In this 60-minute mix of all-Canadian artists, Stranjah takes us on a journey through the trenches of dark heavy unadulterated jungle to more pristine liquid drum & bass elements, showcasing the talents of the growing force of Canada’s drum & bass scene.
