The Big Bossin‘ MC brings his street tales from the west side of Detroit to our NYC studio.
As a member of nationally adored group Doughboyz Cashout, Payroll Giovanni has been cementing himself as Detroit street music royalty for over a decade. The clique’s vivid tales of the highs and lows of fast life in the Motor City helped counter the commercial appeal of homegrown mainstream acts like Eminem, Big Sean and Dej Loaf. But of late, Giovanni has established himself as a solo artist, especially with his standout series with producer Cardo, Big Bossin. On this episode of True Laurels, he’ll tell host Lawrence Burney about his rise out of Detroit and what to expect from him in the near future.
