Tune-Yards presents C.L.A.W.
Matana Roberts and There’s Talk x Lapel

Merrill calls up jazz visionary Matana Roberts, while San Francisco synth mavens There’s Talk and Lapel team up in-studio.
Saxophonist, clarinetist, composer, bandleader, sound experimentalist and multimedia practitioner Matana Roberts isn’t the sort of artist whose accomplishments fit neatly into any particular box. Experimental, esoteric and politically conscious, the NYC-based artist’s work is both thought-provoking and sonically compelling. She gets on the line with Tune-Yards to discuss the latest iteration of Coin Coin, her groundbreaking exploration of history, ancestry and memory via avant-garde jazz. Meanwhile, on the other American coast, Olivia Lee of dreamwave trio There’s Talk, and synthpop voyager Debbie Neigher, AKA Lapel, collaborate on a brand-new track.
